Former Staff

Caddie Brain (she/her) was Wikimedia Australia's inaugural Executive Officer. Her wiki journey began in 2016 when she formed Wikiclub NT, an editing club in the Northern Territory that facilitated the doubling of pages about the region in just two years. More recently she coordinated the Know My Name partnership with the National Gallery of Australia before becoming Wikimedia Australia's first staff member in 2021. With a background in community technology and communications, she has produced countless hours of radio, exhibitions, augmented reality audio tours, machine learning prototypes and emoji sets. Her work has earned numerous awards including recognition at the Webby Awards and Prix Ars Electronica. She completed a Master in Applied Cybernetics. She left Wikimedia Australia in 2022.

James Gaunt (he/him) was Wikimedia Australia's inaugural Communications and Project Coordinator. He became Wikimedia Australia's first intern in 2021 where he developed The Record: Australian Music On Wikipedia, a partnership with the Australia Council for the Arts which saw 50 new pages added to Wikipedia relating to Australian music by editors at four events. In 2022 he completed a Wikimedian In Residence program with the Australian Performing Arts Collection in Melbourne, using their archives to improve references on Wikipedia and train their staff on Wikimedia projects. His background is in libraries, journalism, and research, with a particular interest in music. He left Wikimedia Australia in 2023.
